Meatman (“Meatman,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you visit meatman.com, our mobile or web experiences (including the Meatman App), and any pages such as Tools, Recipes, and customer support pages (collectively, the “Services”).

This Policy applies to personal information processed via our Services. This Policy does not cover third-party websites/services linked from our site (e.g., social media platforms), which have their own privacy notices.

  • Orders & Fulfillment (shipping/billing address, purchase details, delivery preferences, gift messages).
  • Payments (card details are processed by our payment processors; we typically receive tokens, last 4 digits, and status).
  • Customer Support (messages, call notes, attachments).
  • Subscriptions (frequency, items, preferences).
  • Promotions & Programs (newsletters, Meatman Club, referral/affiliate data).
  • Careers (job applications via Careers): resume/CV and related info.
  • User Generated Content (reviews, ratings, Q&A, social handles if you tag us).

2.2 Information from Devices & Browsers

  • Technical (IP address, device identifiers, browser type, OS, language, cookie IDs).
  • Usage (pages viewed, links clicked, time on page, referring/exit pages).
  • Location (approximate location from IP; we do not request precise GPS unless you permit it).

2.3 Information from Partners

  • Platform & Commerce (Shopify platform data, payment processors, subscription apps).
  • Fulfillment Partners (e.g., print-on-demand, dropship logistics such as Printful, carriers).
  • Analytics & Advertising (e.g., analytics providers, ad networks, social platforms).
  • Affiliates/Referrals and Influencers (program participation and attribution).

Choices: Manage cookie preferences via our Privacy Choices page and your browser settings. Where required by law, we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a request to opt out of “sale or sharing” / targeted advertising on that browser.

We disclose personal information to:

  • Service Providers/Processors (e.g., Shopify, payment processors, fulfillment/printing partners like Printful, customer support tools, email/SMS providers, analytics).
  • Advertising & Analytics Partners (for measurement and targeted advertising; see Advertising & Analytics).
  • Affiliates & Business Transfers (as part of corporate transactions).
  • Legal & Safety (to comply with law, enforce agreements, or protect rights, property, or safety).
  • With Your Direction (e.g., posting reviews, social sharing).

Sensitive information: We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those permitted by applicable law (e.g., security and authentication), and we do not use it to infer characteristics.

6) Advertising & Analytics

We may work with analytics providers and ad partners that use cookies/pixels to help us measure performance and show ads that may be more relevant to you. Under some state laws (e.g., California), these activities can be considered “selling” or “sharing” your personal information or “targeted advertising.”

Opt-outs: Use Privacy Choices or enable GPC in your browser. Opt-outs are browser/device-specific and may reset if you clear cookies.

7) Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Typical examples:

  • Orders & tax records: generally kept for 7 years (or longer if legally required).
  • Accounts: kept while active; if you close your account, we minimize/limit data retained per legal/business needs.
  • Marketing preferences: until you opt out or your account is deleted; we may maintain suppression lists.

We implement technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information (e.g., HTTPS, access controls). No method is 100% secure; please use a strong, unique password and keep it confidential.

9) Your Privacy Rights & How to Exercise Them

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of certain personal information; to opt out of “sale or sharing”/targeted advertising; to restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent where applicable.

How to submit a request

We may verify your identity before fulfilling your request. You may also authorize an agent (with proof of authority) to submit a request on your behalf where permitted by law.

Appeals

If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email or contacting privacy@meatman.com with “Privacy Appeal” in the subject. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Marketing communications

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the link in the message. For SMS, reply STOP. Even if you opt out, we may still send transactional or account messages.

10.2 California Rights

California residents have rights to know/access, correct, delete, and opt out of sale/share and targeted advertising; to limit use of sensitive PI (where applicable); and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

10.3 Financial Incentives

From time to time, we may offer discounts, loyalty, referrals, or similar programs (e.g., Meatman Club). Participation is voluntary and subject to the posted terms. The value of your data is reasonably related to the program benefits (e.g., expected average discount or rewards). You may opt in by signing up and opt out at any time via the program’s settings or by contacting us.

10.4 “Shine the Light” (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.83)

California residents may request information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing during the prior year by emailing privacy@meatman.com with “Shine the Light” in the subject.

10.5 Other U.S. State Rights

Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Virginia have similar rights (access, correction, deletion, portability, opt-out of targeted advertising/sale/profiling). Appeal instructions appear in Section 9.

10.6 Nevada

Nevada residents may opt out of the sale of personal information by emailing privacy@meatman.com with “Nevada Opt-Out” in the subject.

11) GDPR/UK GDPR (If You Are in the EEA/UK)

Legal Bases: We process personal data where one or more of the following apply: (i) performance of a contract (e.g., to fulfill orders); (ii) legitimate interests (e.g., improve Services, prevent fraud, marketing to customers); (iii) consent (e.g., certain cookies/marketing where required); (iv) compliance with legal obligations.

Transfers: If we transfer your personal data outside the EEA/UK, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses).

Rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent; you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

12) Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date indicates when this Policy was last revised. Material changes will be posted on this page and, where required, we will notify you.
